Pacific Coast Vintage Travel Poster Beach Towel

Between Santa Monica and Oxnard, the Pacific Coast Highway follows 47 miles of California’s most breathtaking coastline. This image looks north up the road, toward the stretch now known as Will Rogers State Beach.

In the early twentieth century, this was a private dirt road used mainly by the Rindge family to reach their sprawling Malibu ranch. After a long, hard-fought battle to keep it private, the road opened to the public in 1929 as the Roosevelt Highway, later renamed the Pacific Coast Highway. The rail lines and the lighthouse seen here are long gone, but the view remains one of California’s most iconic drives.

We like to look after the best towels on the planet, so please machine wash in cold water, separately from dark colors if you can. Skip bleach, optical brighteners, and fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low, and don’t iron it. Why would you? But don’t. No dry cleaning and no soaking either. That’s it.
